How much does key cutting cost?
Prices vary depending on the key type and blank needed. A standard house key costs a lot less than a security key or an older mortise style. We'll always confirm the price before cutting, so there's no surprise at the till.
How long does key cutting take?
Most standard keys are cut while you wait, usually within a few minutes. Unusual or security keys can take a little longer if we need to order the right blank. We'll tell you honestly if that's the case rather than keeping you waiting around.
Security and Commercial Key Cutting
Offices, shops and rental properties often need more than a standard house key. Security keys, restricted keys and keys for commercial cylinders all need extra care, and we may need to check ID or authorisation before cutting some of them. If you manage several properties or a business with multiple staff, we can also advise on keyed-alike setups so you're not carrying a different key for every door.
If you've lost every copy of a key, cutting a new one from scratch isn't always possible. In that case you may need the lock changed or rekeyed instead. We handle that too, so get in touch and we'll talk through the best option for your situation.
